This little fairy tale starring Matthew Broderick as the tiny mouse Despereaux and Emma Watson as Princess Pea, looks absolutely delightful. Beautiful animation, fun cast, and a sweet story. Opens Dec 19th. See the trailer here.
Seven Pounds
When I first read the synopsis of this Will Smith movie about loss and redemption, I was not really impressed. Felt as if I’d seen all the story elements before. But upon seeing the trailer I am very interested. It looks to pack an emotional wallup! Opens Dec 19th. See the trailer here.
Last Chance Harvey
This very low profile romantic comedy stars one of my favorite actresses, Emma Thompson, & the always incredible Dustin Hoffman as the titular character. These two were delightful in Stanger Than Fiction. This might be the movie I’m most excited about. Opens Christmas Day. See the trailer here.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Lots of Oscar buzz surrounding this movie based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a boy who ages backwards. Directed by David Fincher, it stars Brad Pitt and another of my favorite actresses, Cate Blanchett. Those four names are enough to get me excited on their own. Opens Christmas Day. Frost/Nixon
Ron Howard directs this account of the historic interview between David Frost and Richard Nixon. Howard has directed some of my favorite movies and I enjoy stars Michael Sheen & Frank Langella. Lots of Oscar buzz for this one too. Wide release on Christmas Day. See the trailer here.
