In the trailer, Liam Neeson promises he will hunt down his daughter’s kidnapper, and he indeed delivers on his promise, and Taken delivers the action.  It is a pretty straightforward movie with lots of great stunts, the right amount of suspense, and not too violent.  Idiot teenagers and their likewise ignorant parents add up to idiot American girls getting kidnapped in Paris and sold into prostitution, never once listening to the former government agent cautioning against such thoughtless behavior.  Taken doesn’t focus on the details but is simply a vehicle for Neeson to kick some ass.
